Steven Baule, Ph.D., Ed.D.

Dr. Steven Baule has been a member of the Company of Military Historians for more than a decade. He was elected as a Fellow of the Company in 2012 at the General Meeting at Baltimore that year. He was elected to the Board of Governors in 2011. He currently serves as the Company's electronic publications editor. His historical interests generally center around the British Army in America before and during the American Revolution particularly as related to the 18th (Royal Irish) Regiment and its Midwestern Service. He has also written on topics as recent as the New Trier Cadet Battalion during World War One. A paternal great grand-father fought in the Civil War in Company C, 21st Iowa Infantry. Service that included the Siege of Vicksburg, the Red River Campaign and the Mobile Campaigns. That man's father, Anton Baule, fought at Waterloo. Baule served as an US Army Infantry officer. His father, Charles Baule, served as an officer in the US Corps of Engineers.

Baule holds doctorates from Loyola University Chicago in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and Northern Illinois University in Instructional Technology. He holds a masters from the University of Iowa in Library and Information Science and a bachelor's degree in history from Loras College.
